The recent studyThe “Health Report of Corporate India 2023,” produced by insurtech firm Plum, suggests that his concerns are well-founded.
According to the report, 71% of employees cover most of their health care expenses out of pocket.
On average, a consultation with a general practitioner costs Rs 300, a specialist costs Rs 1,000 and mental health services costs Rs 25,000 in urban India. The average cost of a health check-up is Rs 1,500 and laboratory tests costs range from Rs 1,500 to Rs 25,000, the report said.
