Before US markets opened, results arriving from US provinces confirmed Trump’s return to the White House, the Associated Press reported. The news agency declared the results in Trump’s favor, saying the Republican has already secured 277 Electoral College votes, seven more than the majority.
Before Wall Street opened, Asian markets were trading on a mixed note. Mainland China’s Shanghai Composite Index was almost flat, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index plunged 2.23%. Japan’s Nikkei 225 also fell 2.61%, but India’s NSE Nifty 50 stabilized with gains of 1.12%.
