IIM Bangalore successfully completed the summer internships of the largest ever batch of 602 students of the Post Graduate Program in Management and Post Graduate Program in Business Analytics. During placement week, 484 students (437 PGP and 47 PGP-BA) received placement, and an additional 115 students (89 PGP and 26 PGP-BA) were placed in a subsequent process, including 12 students with disabilities. Three PGP students found an internship independently.
Prof. Ganesh N Prabhu, Chairman, Career Development Services, Professor and Chair, Strategy Area, IIM Bangalore, said, “The ongoing summer internships have seen many entry-level recruiters offered roles in strategy, marketing, product, finance, analytics and investments – some of the projects offered were more interesting and challenging than those offered during the summer placement week.
Accenture Strategy leads the consulting firms with 45 of 158 total deals. Despite this, the consulting ratio fell as financial, banking and investment firms increased their offerings to 130. FMCG and retail offered 69 positions, manufacturing had 55 in supply chain and new products, and e-commerce gave 45 in digital marketing and maps. IT had 43 in consulting and product management, conglomerates had 41 in leadership, foundations had 29 in governance consulting, healthcare had 19 in marketing, and Analytics/AI had 13 in new applications commercial.
