Bladeranger (TASE: BLRN), which has developed software for monitoring and analyzing solar energy fields, announced that it has signed an exclusive distribution and cooperation agreement with Israel-based Propeller Drones for the marketing and distribution of its remote-controlled automated drone system. The Bladeranger system monitors, controls and cleans solar panels. The agreement is for a period of three years.
This system is based on the system developed by Solar Drone, which recently merged with Bladeranger. Solar Drone has developed a payload specifically designed for drones, intended for cleaning solar panels in complex locations. The company, founded in 2021, is a pioneer and world leader in the development of “Drone in a Box” systems based on cutting-edge technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and many others, which significantly increase the efficiency of solar installations, optimize asset operation, save labor, reduce costs and increase profitability.
Bladeranger developed DeepSolar software, which provides solar energy field monitoring and analysis services. The merger with Solar Drone enables technology integration between the software and the cleaning drone, and will enable a more comprehensive service offering to be sold to each customer. According to Bladeranger, Solar Drone’s drone technology and DeepSolar software will be at the forefront of maximizing green energy production from solar panels, through drone cleaning, monitoring and diagnostics.
The importance of this agreement lies in Propeller Drones’ positioning in the Israeli market. Propeller Drones is one of the leading drone service companies in Israel, operating nationwide and providing services to over 200 companies and organizations from various sectors and business areas such as technology, real estate, infrastructure, agriculture, renewable energies, security and defense. Propeller will be the sole distributor of the Bladeranger system in Israel. This exclusivity is subject to the achievement of Propeller’s annual revenue targets.
Under the terms of the agreement between Bladeranger and Propeller, initially, Bladeranger will provide Propeller, at no direct cost, with three unique cleaning systems (payloads for the drone), technical support and the software infrastructure necessary to operate the system. and spare parts. Propeller will distribute and market the system to its own customers in Israel and will be responsible for the labor required to fly the drones included in the system.
BladeRanger will receive 30% of the total gross revenue generated by Propeller through the sale of the system to customers and the provision of related services.
The merger between Bladeranger and Solar Drone, and consequently the collaboration with Propeller, aims to solve an important problem in the solar energy market. A significant portion of energy production is lost due to dirt buildup on solar panels and poor maintenance, especially on solar farms located in complex topographies where it is difficult to properly clean the panels , whether manually or with robotic systems, such as on flooded farms. fields, mountainsides, commercial rooftops and agricultural fields used to produce solar energy. The cleaning market is estimated at $1 billion per year.
Itamar Kohali, Founder and CEO of Propellor Drones, said: “I welcome the cooperation with Bladeranger, which brings a significant combination and multiplies the power between the impressive technological capability of remote-controlled automatic drones and the strong operational performance and capabilities of Propeller Drones to provide solar field monitoring, control and cleaning services in a professional and efficient manner, which generates major economic value for solar energy developers and companies. This cooperation is another important pillar in realizing Propeller Drones’ vision of distributing and making the capabilities of drones and UAVs available to its customers as a service that significantly improves business and operational processes in different industries in general and the renewable energy industry in particular.”
Oded Fruchtman, CEO of Bladeranger, added: “I welcome the cooperation with Propeller Drones, the leading drone company in Israel, which will operate the payload specially designed for Bladeranger on solar energy fields and contribute to the distribution of this innovative technology in Israel, in order to maximize the solar energy production of farms located in complex locations, which today have no other alternative for cleaning. In this way, I hope we will bring good news to these farms and enable them to reduce energy losses created by dirt and the difficulty of effective maintenance due to their location.”
