FireflyVR, a company that develops virtual reality software for mental health care, announced the appointment of Andy Mathis as its new chief business officer and Steve Howarth as its new chief financial officer.
Mathis’ previous roles include Head of North America Android Carrier Partnerships at Googleresponsible for customer account management at Oculusdirector of health partnerships at REAL System Twilightand, more recently, director of business development, emerging products at Amazon.
Howarth previously served as vice president of global financial operations at a medical device company. Medtronic.

Cognito Therapeutica startup using visual and auditory stimulation to treat neurodegenerative diseases, has named Christian Howell as chief commercial officer.
The Massachusetts-based company’s investigational medical device uses non-invasive neuromodulation to treat people with neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease.
Prior to joining Cognito, Howell was senior vice president and general manager of Aetion’s medical devices and diagnostics group. Aetion is a startup focused on real-world evidence in healthcare.
“Over the past two decades, he has worked closely with public and private payers to develop innovative reimbursement models, with key relationships with regulators, public and private payers, major health systems and industry stakeholders,” Brent Vaughan, president and CEO at Cognito Therapeutics, said in a statement.
